On the evening of May 14th, 2017, “Millennial Road”, the theatrical performance for the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation was staged at NCPA.

Dance performance “Millennial Road”gave the audience a glimpse into the charm of the ancient Silk Road.

Featuring fairies dancing to the music of China’s Tang Dynasty, this performance gave us a glimpse into the charm of the ancient Silk Road.

The dance reproduced scenes from the Dunhuang murals, like “Performers Playing Lute on their Back”, “Flying Apsaras Carrying Musical Instruments”, “Huteng Dance” and “Huxuan Dance”.

Located on the Silk Road, Dunhuang has witnessed friendly exchanges of culture and art between the East and and West.

In the programme “Great Harmony”, vocalists HE Hui and WANG Chuanyue sang Chinese song I Love You, China and Italian folk song O Sole Mio.

In the beautiful melody of Franz Liszt’s Liebestraume, Beijing in four seasons was presented to the audience through such scenes as the Forbidden City at sunset, Hutong or traditional alleys in local neighborhoods, red leaves in the Summer Palace and the Great Wall in snow.
