The dance movements echo the inner feelings of the characters, and audiences were presented with the inner struggles, joys and pain that all characters undergo during the construction of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway.
Moreover, performers of the Jilin Municipal Ensemble of Songs and Dances also held the spotlight with a passionate performance. “Spring Sowing”, “Supporting the Army” and other group dance sections with national style demonstrated splendid Chinese features in body language.
When this work drew to a close, the familiar melody resounded again and an innocent child voice echoed throughout the NCPA Theatre. The beautiful melody was composed by YANG Fan, who integrated music with dance language and sparkled with great power to excite everyone’s mind.
The perfect combination of live stage scenes and multimedia projections allowed the audience to take a closer look at the beauty of snow-covered plateau, the hope of ignited butter lamp and the thrill of tunnel collapse.
In this dance drama, when railway constructors carried on the entire rail track on shoulder in a monumental manner, they not only shouldered a happiness road of Tibetans, but also represented the great spirit of “The Railway to Tibet,” which must be carried forward for generations.
