On June 20th, 2019, a first world-class classical opera Turandot, produced by the NCPA, ushered in the 10th round of performances, thereby adding luster for the NCPA Opera Festival 2019.
Under the baton of conductor LÜ Jia, China NCPA Orchestra and China NCPA Chorus joined hands with SUN Xiuwei, Warren Mok, YAO Hong, NCPA Resident Artists GUAN Zhijing, ZHANG Yang, KOU Jing and JIN Zhengjian to present this Oriental legend yet again.
Turandot is not only a “Swan Song” created by Italian composer Giacomo Puccini with the greatest efforts, but also marks the last peak of “Golden Age of Opera” in Italy.
The novelty of Chinese theme and creative application of the Chinese folk song Jasmine Flower not only open a door for worldwide audiences to take a closer look at Oriental culture, but also arouse Chinese audiences’ cordial feelings.
Moreover, GUAN Zhijing incisively cast light upon the old emperor Timur in impasse. ZHANG Yang, KOU Jing and JIN Zhengjian played three ministers Ping, Pang and Pong, respectively.
