On May 24th, a press conference was held at the NCPA for the third Solti Accademia China Masterclasses co-hosted by the NCPA and Georg Solti Accademia with the support of the Rolex Institute.

Those in attendance were Vice President of NCPA ZHAO Tiechun, Artistic Director and co-founder of Georg Solti Accademia Jonathan Papp, acclaimed soprano Barbara Frittoli, General Manager of Rolex (Beijing) Limited Hans-Peter Bouvard, and the students to attend the 2018 Solti China Master Classes at NCPA.
In 2016, the Georg Solti Accademia and the NCPA held the first Solti Accademia China Masterclasses with strong support from the Rolex Institute. Over the past two years, 15 students stood out, qualified to receive one-on-one tutoring at the NCPA, and show their talents in the Masterclasses. Three outstanding students went to Italy to receive training in the summer programme offered by Georg Solti Accademia.
“I feel very honoured to attend the Solti Accademia China Masterclasses. I’m also glad to go to Italy for further studies. Thank the Masterclasses for giving me this valuable opportunity, which is, as I believe, of great help to my opera study,” said GU Wenmeng, an outstanding student in the second Solti Accademia China Masterclasses at NCPA.

Jonathan Papp, Stefano Baldasseroni and Barbara Frittoli will offer one-on-one face-to-face training guidance to students in the 2018 Solti Accademia China Masterclasses at NCPA. They will tutor students in vocal pronunciation, singing skill and theatre performance.
After an initial audition that lasted for three months, 21 students received the nod and were auditioned on May 23rd. Of them, eight will receive one-on-one tutoring and attend a master class on May 24th-28th. In order that more students would benefit from the Solti Accademia China Masterclasses at NCPA, all of the 21 students selected will have an opportunity to audit classes.

On May 28th, the master class the NCPA Concert Hall will witness eight outstanding students showing what they have learned within the week on the spot, and music lovers from colleges will take a close look at their performance.
“After two years of experience accumulation and practice, the Solti Accademia China Masterclasses at NCPA have gradually developed into an important platform for the growth of young singers and an important window for artistic talent exchanges between China and foreign countries. This time, the Masterclasses plan to innovate its talent training mode, to benefit more Chinese young artistic talents, to enable them to spread the sound of China and show the charm of China in the international artistic language while communicating with their foreign counterparts on culture and art,” said the person in charge at the NCPA.
The Solti Accademia China Masterclasses at NCPA have received great support from Rolex, a long-term partner of the NCPA. After the end of classes, the most outstanding of the eight students will go to Italy to attend the summer programme offered by Georg Solti Accademia. This student will be granted full scholarship from the Rolex Institute.
