Outreach performances of NCPA May Festival 2019 made debut in fire brigade

On May 12^th, 2019, which coincided with the 11^th National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day, outreach performances of the NCPA May Festival 2019 made debut in Dongjing Road Fire Brigade of Beijing Xicheng District Public Security and Firehouse Branch. Headed by Trumpeter DAI Zhonghui, the DAI Zhonghui Trumpet Ensemble offered a wonderful performance to more than 40 firefighters.

This performance was unveiled in a temporary “stage” surrounded by fire engines and fire-fighting motorcycles. Many classics were presented, such as Four Horsemen and Il barbiere di Siviglia. Many residents nearby were also attracted and watched the performance.

“This is the first time that my students and I perform in a fire brigade!” DAI said: “I always respect firefighters, as the safety of every city is inseparable from their contributions”. In the performance process, DAI also expounded on the forms of artistic expressions of brass instruments.

As a key brand event of the NCPA, “NCPA May Festival” focuses on chamber music. It has been consecutively held for a decade since 2009. Artists present outreach performances in governments, schools, hospitals, local communities, CBD and other places so that workers from all walks of life marvel at the charms of music.

Artists will showcase their skills and extend cordial greetings and blessings to city builders and pioneers.

Outreach performances of the NCPA May Festival 2019 will sweep over Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region for the first time. Chinese and foreign artists will present excellent performances to city builders and pioneers in Beijing City Sub-center and Xiong'an New District. Moreover, the wonderful performance will also appear at the Beijing Organising Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, grassroots communities, cultural institutions, museums, economic development zones and other places. A total of 20 performances will resound splendid melodies at every corner of the city.
