“Roam about the Classics” 2019 kicks off

On July 11th, the annual “Roam about the Classics” kicked off with conductor Nicolas Chalvin and National Ballet of China Symphony Orchestra, in collaboration with pianist CHEN Sa.

It’s not the first collaboration of conductor Nicolas Chalvin and National Ballet of China Symphony Orchestra. They together brought a wonderful concert of French composers last year at the NCPA. In this year’s “Roam about the Classics” opening concert, they first presented Bizet’s Carmen Suite. Later, pianist CHEN Sa joined in the interpretation of Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in F Minor, Op. 21. CHEN Sa portrayed a beautiful and moving love story with virtuosity.

On the second half, the orchestra presented works of French composers—Faure’s Pelleas et Melisande and Debussy’s La Mer.

Six concert remains for “Roam about the Classics 2019”. Till July 21st, Beijing Symphony Orchestra, Gershwin Piano Quartet, The King’s Singers and China NCPA Orchestra will continue to light up the summer nights with romance.
