Since its establishment in 2009, Roam About the Classics has been held every summer with classical music performed in a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere.
Themed “Classic Plus”, Roam About the Classics 2018 lasts from July 18th to 29th, mixing many music elements together, including classical music, rock and roll, ballet, musical, film and jazz. Five outstanding ensembles and orchestras at home and abroad will stage performances, including the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, National Ballet of China Symphony Orchestra, Beijing Symphony Orchestra, China Trio and National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America. They'll collaborate with artists Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Boris Giltburg, LU Siqing, Li-Wei Qin and SUN Yingdi under the baton of conductors Michael Tilson Thomas, Vasily Petrenko, TAN Dun, TAN Lihua and ZHANG Yi.
This year, all the “Roam About the Classics” concerts except “TAN Dun and China Trio” will be live streamed at the online NCPA Classical Music Channel. And the four concerts from July 18th to 21st will also be live streamed at a large outdoor screen at Beijing Fun Business Project Park.
