ZHAO Ling as LEI Tingchang
Actor of the NCPA Drama Ensemble, ZHAO Ling has appeared in dramas A Midsummer Night's Dream, Jane Eyre and Hamlet produced by NCPA. Graduating from the Performing Department of PLA Art Academy, he used to be an actor of Drama Troupe of General Political Department. His representative theatrical works include Baptism, Scared Fire in a Remote Place, Men’s Array, Growing Trees in the Desert, Most Critical Moment, Itched Life.
He has also joined the shooting and dubbing for many films and TV series. His dubbing works include Jack in 3D Titanic, Prince Guojun in Empresses of the Palace, XIANG Yu in Legend of Chu and Han, QIN Qiong in Heroes in Sui & Tang Dynasties, Superman in Superman Returns, O’Connor in The Fast and the Furious, Vronsky in Anna Karenina, Julien Sorel in The Red and the Black (Le Rouge et le Noir), and Sherlock in Sherlock.
His representative film and television works include Young Kangxi, Colonel's Daughter, Maggi’s Gift, Shitty Life, Town River, Rise and Fall, Coordinates, and Spy Game. He has participated in such radio dramas as Shenzhen Ballad, Song for Mother, Unchanged Love, Yarning for the Land, Return to the Poyang Lake, Lonely Sunflower, I Come from the Mountains, Ode to the Motherland, Attachment, Camellia, and Teacher.
DONG Wenliang as LEI Tingchang
Graduating from the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts in major of Chinese Traditional Opera Performing, he has starred in many dramas, musicals and Chinese traditional operas. His representative works include The Lei Family, the Royal Architects, A Pipe Dream, Dreamer and so on.
WANG Jishi as LEI Siqi
WANG Jishi is a Chinese first-class actor in Tianjin People’s Art Theatre and the winner of Golden Lion Award. In regard to the representative works, he played Juexin, ZHOU Puyuan, LU You and Master Hongyi in the dramas Family, Thunderstorm, The Phoenix Hairpin and LI Shutong respectively, and WU De, JIN Zaiyuan and BAO Qingyuan in the TV dramas Dead Men Do Tell TalesⅡ, Picking Mulberry and Xin’an Family respectively.
WANG Wenjie Guizhi'er
WANG Wenjie is a member of NCPA Drama Ensemble. She once played Guizhier in NCPA drama commission The LEI Family. She raduated from the Department of Music Drama, Beijing Dance Academy. She played a part in the Chinese musicals Rent and Spring Awakening, the original musical Tomorrow Will Be Better and some episodes of Broadway’s musicals like Chicago, The Witch and Smash.
YANG Qi as Empress Dowager Cixi
YANG Qi is a member of NCPA Drama Ensemble. She ever played in NCPA dramas A Midsummer Night's Dream and Hamlet and its drama commissions The Lei Family and Jane Eyre. YANG graduated from the Beijing Film Academy. In 2009, she acted in the drama A Midsummer Night's Dream directed by WANG Jinsong at the Edinburgh International Festival in Britain. In 2011, she took part in Beijing Film Academy’s drama commission Inquiring Sword, which won a number of awards of the National Drama Culture Festival. In 2012, YANG participated in the drama of the National Theatre of China - Four Generations Living Together, directed by TIAN Qinxin. Her representative TV dramas include The Legend of Zhenhuan, Chishui River National Wine, Old Farmer, A Family Honour, Mad Detective YANG Jingbang, No. 1 Police, Hot Pursuit, Losing No Time in Dating after Work, Expedition, Women’s Sky, Great Porcelain Merchant, Man Hunt and Huangmei Drama Master Legendary. His representative films include The Founding of a Republic, The Deadly Strands and Killing Trees.
ZHANG Shuo as Story-teller
ZHANG Shuo is an actor of Beijing Traditional Folk Arts Troupe, a Chinese third-class actor and a member of Chinese Ballad Singers Association and Beijing Ballad Singers Association.
Since 2010, he has studied Beijing storytelling under LIAN Liru and JIA Jianguo. He has performed the long storytelling works Romance of the Eastern Han Dynasty, General Yangs and Outlaws of the Marsh at Xuannan and Dongcheng cultural centres. He is the 11th generation inheritor of Beijing storytelling. He has also learned comic dialogue, allegro, monochord, bass drum and other forms of folk art with LI Jing, WANG Yuebo and other teachers.
He ever took part in Beijing Spring Festival Gala 2014, Xining Spring Festival Gala 2015 and Ningxia Spring Festival Gala 2015. He won the second prize of the professional group at the 6th CCTV Comic Dialogue Contest, the first prize of 2015 “Nanshan Cup” National Comic Dialogue Contest, the third prize of 2013 Beijing TV Comedy Competition, the first prize of reciting and storytelling programmes at 2013 Beijing Folk Art Contest, and the Award of Excellence of the “Lecture Tour about Moral Models” sponsored by the Publicity Department of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee.
