DONG Wenliang is a member of the NCPA Drama Ensemble and teacher at the Department of Acting of the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts. He graduated from the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts, and has starred in NCPA dramas Returning Home on a Snowy Night, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Hamlet, The Merchant of Venice, The Birds, The Tempest and The LEI Family, the Royal Architects. His works have won the National Excellent Little Theatre Award, the Nomination for the National Project to the Distillation of the Stage Art Award and Best Theatre World at the OzAsia Festival. He has taken part in many theatre festivals and creative projects held in France, the UK, Germany, Singapore, Australia, South Korea , Japan, etc.
His representative drama works include A Pipe Dream, When Love Blossoms, Dream Travellers, Love, In Search of the Supernatural and Stewed Food, as well as other representative stage plays including musicals Butterflies, Prison Break on Imperial Orders and Crazy KTV. He has played in French poetic dramas Barocco and Labyrinth; Qu Opera Son of Heaven, Tears in Imperial Concubine Zhen’s Eyes, A Bride for a Ride, Beneath the Red Banner, Citizens of Beijing and The Teahouse, etc. He has also directed dramas including Love Song of Taihang, We are Together, Confucius and Shoot the Chute, etc.
