Although it's his first time to participate in the resident program of art organizations in Beijing, Lang Lang’s tie with NCPA has a long history. On December 31st, 2007, Lang Lang cooperated with maestro Seiji Ozawa and appeared in the first NCPA New Year's Concert in its inauguration year. In April 2011, Lang Lang was invited to be the Ambassador of NCPA Classical Music Channel. In December 2012, Lang Lang first joined hands with China NCPA Orchestra to present a special gift for the fifth birthday of NCPA. Over the past decade, almost every year Lang Lang would return to NCPA and bring wonderful performances to Beijing audiences. As the Ambassador of Classical Music Channel, Lang Lang has spared no effort to participate in the promotion of classical music.

It will be the first overseas cooperation between Lang Lang and China NCPA Orchestra. Moreover, one of the highlights of the programme will be the popular oriental classics Yellow River Piano Concerto. What's more to be expected is Lang Lang's master class in NCPA, and a featured series to be launched by Classical Music Channel in the near future, collectively exhibiting his memorable moments in NCPA and around the world, as well as sound recordings and behind-the-scenes looks in these years.

Despite that there is still time to go for his recital in April, Lang Lang is already itched to try. As he expressed, he "not only looks forward to sharing the world with his latest exploration in the music world through his piano recital, and joining hands with maestro Zubin Mehta to perform the Western classics in China’s top performing arts centre, but also looks forward to working together with China’s renowned conductor LÜ Jia to display the Chinese classic to Western audience in the prestigious concert hall in the west.” He stated, “In the past ten years, NCPA has been my important partner as well as a staunch supporter of my career. I deeply respect NCPA’s contributions to the classical music development, and I also appreciate the support rendered to me over the years by NCPA.NCPA’s cooperation with me on the 10th anniversary is sure to create new peak moments for Chinese music, and I would like to create new music ideas for mass music fans.”
