On June 13th, the 9th concert of the NCPA “Sound of Summer Blooms” online series was launched as scheduled and streamed on the NCPA Classical Music Channel and many other online platforms. As of noon on 14th, the concert had been viewed for more than 30 million times, contributing to over 420 million hits for 13 performances of the “Spring Online” and “Sound of Summer Blooms” online series.

In the first half of the concert, Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante in E-flat Major was rendered under the leadership of LÜ Jia, the NCPA Artistic Director of the Music, with soloists ZHOU Yang, CHEN Sijun, LIU Xiaoxin and JI Jingjing, principal artists of the wind section. In the second half, the interpretation of “Spring” “Summer” “Autumn” and “Winter” from Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons were led respectively by principal string musicians DOU Congchang, MA Weijia, CHEN Shu and LI Zhe.
In the pre-concert talk, host LI Yangwei showed the backstage of NCPA to the netizens, where four principal wind musicians explained the characteristics of their instruments and presented a “relay” version of Shostakovich’s Waltz. Afterwards, the four principal string musicians performed excerpts from The Four Seasons respectively in the backstage waiting area of the Concert Hall, and LI Zhe explained the role and origin of the principals of the orchestra.
The concert was widely acclaimed by netizens. For more than two months, the audiences have formed a habit of enjoying the NCPA’s online concerts on weekends.
