WANG Tao, a clarinetist in China, a Yamaha artist of 2018, and promotion ambassador for G. Henle Verlag. Tao has held recitals in different countries and regions, including China, the United States, France, Austria, Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan etc., and performed with the China Philharmonic Orchestra, Beijing Symphony Orchestra, China Youth Symphony Orchestra, Harbin Symphony Orchestra, Sichuan Philharmonic Orchestra, Central Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra and so on. Tao has been a prize winner in many prestigious international competitions.
WANG Tao was awarded the title of honourary citizen of Senna, France, on the special day of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. Tao was also invited to speak at the Boao Forum for Asia as youth leader and was received by Chinese Premier LI Keqiang.
In 2016, as the first Chinese clarinetist under the Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft label, his first classical recital album Schubert was released on the legendary yellow label. Until now, Schubert has more than 100 million hits on new-media and digital platform. Tao’s national tour “Rhythm In My Life” was favoured by many audiences across more than 30 cities. In August 2018, Tao released Spin, his third album of UMG and started a new national tour “Spin” which would like to interpret dancing music from European to South American composers by clarinet, demonstrating many different nations’ culture.
SHEN Tong Pianist
SHEN Tong is a young pianist based in Germany. Since 2014, he has been teaching in the Affiliated Middle School of China Conservatory of Music as a lecturer of piano studies. From 1995 to 2003, he studied at the Central Conservatory of Music Primary School and Middle School, and studied under Professor ZHANG Xinning and LI Qifang. He was admitted to Berlin University of the Arts in Germany and studied under Professor Rainer Becker, director of the piano department. He graduated in 2012 and received a Performer Diploma in Piano.
In 2008, he participated in the 16th Artur Schnabel Piano Competition in Berlin and won first place in this competition, starting his musical career in Germany. From 2008 to 2012, he was invited to cooperate with the Berliner Symphoniker in a four-year music season performance at the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, with 13 concertos in his repertoire. In 2013, he returned to China after his study and music season performance. In March of the same year, he performed Richard Strauss’ Piano Concerto in D Minor in cooperation with the Beijing Symphony Orchestra at the Forbidden City Concert Hall. In May of the same year, he was invited to begin music season performance at the Beijing Concert Hall and NCPA in cooperation with the Central Conservatory of Music’s EOS Repertoire Orchestra. His repertoires included Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 2, Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini, etc. In June 2014, he participated in the 3rd China Shenzhen International Piano Concerto Competition and won the Finalist Award. In 2015, in the First Concerto Season of the Central Conservatory of Music, he recorded DVDs with the EOS Repertoire Orchestra on Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 and George Gershwin’s Piano Concerto in F. In November of the same year, he visited Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media, Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts, and Hamburg University of Music & Theatre, and attended concert performances in accompaniment with the piano department of the Affiliated Middle School of China Conservatory of Music. In January 2016, he was invited to hold a concert at the Master Class in St. Anton am Arlberg, Austria and performed with the Baotou Symphony Orchestra in August at Baotou Grand Theatre.
