WANG Chong
Tenor WANG Chong has performed a number of roles in NCPA opera productions, including the Messenger (Aida, a concert version co-produced with New National Theatre, Tokyo), the Steersman (Der Fliegende Hollaender), Flavio (Norma), Dr. Caius (Falstaff), and Rodolfo (Guglielmo Tell). An alumnus of the 2014 Merola Opera Programme, WANG Chong is a first-year San Francisco Opera Adler Fellow. He performed with the Merola Opera Programme excerpts as Goro (Madama Butterfly), Don José (Carmen), and the Duke of Mantua (Rigoletto).
WANG Kai
WANG Kai is an NCPA resident artist. He played a role in the NCPA operas The Red Guards on Honghu Lake, The Chinese Orphan, FAN Zhimin, The Long March and Jinsha River.
He is a member of the Chinese Musicians Association, a member of the Volunteer Association of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, director of the China Artist Association, Vice Chairman of Beijing Dongcheng Musicians Association, and fire control propaganda ambassador of Beijing. He is a visiting professor at Zhengzhou University and Yuzhang Normal University.
WANG Kai won gold award in the Bellini International Vocal Competition, Italy, gold award in the Verdi International Vocal Competition China Division, gold award in the Florence Urbania International Vocal Competition, gold award in the Italy Holy Angels International Vocal Competition, gold award in the Chinese and Foreign Opera Competition for Nine Art Academies, third prize in the Japan Madama Butterfly International Vocal Competition, and bronze award in the 10th National Vocal Competition by the Ministry of Culture.
As a leading actor, he has starred in many domestic and foreign operas, such as Mascagni’s opera Elis staged at the Tokyo Grand Theatre (Osaka); The Watcher of Mount Tianshan staged at a Chinese theatre (CHEN Jun); The Fishing Town (Kublai Khan); The Legend of Woodcarvings (Bartel); Confucius (Confucius).
LIU Songhu
LIU Songhu is the first NCPA Resident Artist of baritone. LIU Songhu has starred in the NCPA operas and commissions A Village Teacher, Xishi, Turandot, La Traviata, Die Fledermaus, Un Ballo in Maschera, Lohengrin, Les Contes d’Hoffmann, L’italiana in Algeri, Rigoletto, I Pagliacci, Der Rosenkavalier, The Sunrise, L'Elisir d’Amore, The Dawns Here Are Quiet, Fang Zhimin and The Long March, etc.
LIU Songhu is a world-famous baritone living in Europe, a doctoral degree holder, the first resident soloist at NCPA, and a distinguished professor at People’s Liberation Army Academy of Art. He was an associate professor at Peking University Opera Research Institute, and served as a resident soloist at the Nuremberg State Theatre for 10 years and a visiting lecturer at the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg. So far, he has given over 500 opera performances at the opera houses throughout Europe and released many CDs.
He has won seven grand prizes at famous international vocal competitions: The first prize in the “Toulouse” International Vocal Competition in 2006; the first prize in the “LaVoce” Art Song Singing Competition in 2007; the third prize in the Internationaler Gesangswettbewerb “Neue Stimmen” in 2003; the rising star award for opera performance at the “Opernwelt” Annual in 2007; the award for “the performance in Il barbiere di Siviglia-Figaro”, the “rising star award and the award for the tour in Austria” in 1999 and 2005 respectively; the third prize in the “Dvorak” International Vocal Competition and the award for the best singing performance of “Dvorak’s” works in 1995; the second prize and many other awards in the “Pardorzhinskii” International Vocal Competition in 1997.
He graduated from the Odessa National Conservatory of Music in Ukraine with a Master’s degree, the Osim Opera Institute in Italy with a Master’s degree, and the Hochschule für Musik Nürnberg with a Master’s degree and a Doctor’s degree.
ZHANG Yang
ZHANG Yang has sung in the NCPA opera productions of Andre Chenier, Simon Boccanegra and The Dawns Here Are Quiet, FANG Zhimin, La Gioconda, Carmen, Le Nozze di Figaro and Turandot. Graduated from People's Liberation Army Academy of Art and Conservatorio Arrigo Boito di Parma of Italy, ZHANG is a baritone singer of the National Center for the Performing Arts of China. He learned opera from Mirella Flenia, the world-class pop diva and baritone singers Alexander Korbailey and QU Bo. He won the First Award in the Anita cerqueti International Vocal Competition held in Italy, and the First Award in the Italian Modena Cubec International Vocal Master Class. He participated in operas Le Nozze di Figaro, La boheme and Falstaff. He has collaborated with Teatro Regio di Parma. In 2013, he graduated from the Conservatorio Arrigo Boito di Parma, and participated in the Verdi Opera Concert in the year.
LI Xintong

LI Xintong graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music. She got a Master's degree in vocal music teaching at the New England Conservatory. She has sung in Thunder, Il Tabarro, Carmen, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Turandot, and other more than 20 operas and oratorios.
ZHANG Xin
ZHANG Xin is a “Master of Vocal Performance” from the Conservatorio Arrigo Boito di PARMA. After graduating from the Conservatory of Music with full marks, she entered the master class of the world-renowned soprano Mirella Freni. She received a full scholarship and was highly praised by the master for her unique voice with strong dramatic tension. She excels in interpreting the works by Verdi and Puccini, and has performed in operas and concerts at the Teatro Regio di Parma, the Teatro Pavarotti in Modena, and Teatro dell'Opera di Pontelimoli.
LIU Shan
LIU Shan has performed in NCPA opera commission FANG Zhimin and Jinsha River.
Mezzo-soprano LIU Shan is a Chinese first-level actor in the Central Opera House, a member of the Chinese Musicians Association, a winner of government's special allowance granted by the State Council. She won a prize at the 3th Offenbach International Vocal Competition in France in 1990, and won the first place at the 5th vocal competition held by the Canadian Royal Academy of Music and Klugh Symphony Orchestra in 1993.
She also participated in opera Carmen, The Tales of Hoffmann, Madama Butterfly, The Thievish Magpie, Otello, La Traviata, Falstaff, Rustic Chivalry, Don Juan, The Flying Dutchman, The Passion & the Love,'ong Fairy, Imperial Concubine Yang, Tan Dun's opera Tea, and the Heart's Mirrior.
KOU Jing
Tenor KOU Jing has performed in NCPA productions of Rusalka and La Traviata. He got a Master’s Degree of Opera Performance in the Parma Conservatory of Music in Italy and starred in the Verdi’s Requiem Mass held by the Italian Ministry of Culture in memory of the 200th anniversary of Verdi’s birth, which toured in Italy and dozens of cities in America and received extremely high appraisal from Parma Mail. He won the Third Place and Special Award in the “Voci dal Mediterraneo” International Opera Competition and the Special Award of the “Maria Caniglia” International Opera Competition.
