Anne-Sophie Mutter to lead “Beethoven Week”

From December 4^th to 8^th, the violin virtuoso Anne-Sophie Mutter will return to the NCPA and lead “Beethoven Week” by giving four concerts of Beethoven’s solos, ensembles, concertos and symphonies with the China NCPA Orchestra and other artists, including: Manfred Honeck, Lambert Orkis, LU Wei, Muller-Schott and Babeshkol.

On December 4^th, Mutter will collaborate with Lambert Orkis to present Beethoven’s fourth, fifth and ninth Sonatas for Violin and Piano. On the 5^th and 7^th, conductor Manfred Honeck will raise his baton over the China NCPA Orchestra to play Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major, Triple Concerto in C major, two romanzas and Symphony No. 7, which enjoys very high popularity, with Mutter and her friends. On December 8^th, Mutter will play Beethoven’s two string trios and String Quartet in E-flat major “Harp” with LU Wei, Muller-Schott and Babeshkol.

The four sets of full-length musical pieces represent Beethoven’s complete works for violin. Mutter has long wished to render these sonatas for violin and piano and violin concertos, which have been with her for decades, on the 250^th anniversary of the birth of Beethoven. The audience can enjoy a rare opportunity to come into personal contact with Beethoven in the week by listening to Mutter and her friends’ performances.
