NCPA June/01/2021
On May 31st, “Growing up with My Motherland” theme performance to honour International Children’s Day 2021, organized by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, China Welfare Institute and NCPA, co-organized by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, was held at the NCPA. While celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, the performance inspired young people to pass down the spirit of the Party and strive to become new pillars of the times. WANG Jiarui, Vice Chairman of the 12th National Committee of the CPPCC, Chairman of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and Chairman of the China Welfare Institute, attended the event.

The performance was divided into three parts, “Hello! Young Pioneers”, “Hello! New Era” and “Hello! 100-Year-Old CPC”. It covered such art forms as storytelling, children’s song, as well as dance, children’s drama, Beijing opera and children’s chorus, integrating topics such as Party history, poverty alleviation, Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games and scientific and technological innovation. More than 1,000 primary and secondary school students participated, who are from the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation’s Peace Angel Arts Troupe, nearly 30 primary and secondary schools in Beijing and China Welfare Institute’s Little Friends Art Troupe. The main creative team and directors of the event were mostly art teachers at Beijing’s schools and universities. They demonstrated the fruitful results of the aesthetic education for young people in Beijing and Shanghai.

“Growing up with My Motherland” theme performance is a branded public welfare project for young people jointly created by the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, China Welfare Institute and the NCPA. The event has been well received by young people and has become a good platform for them to express their love for the motherland. Among the audience, there were families with autistic children invited by the NCPA “Public Welfare Seats” initiative through the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation. The children accompanied by their parents, enjoyed the performance together with other youths and had a happy Children’s Day. The event is supported by Reid Group, Ping An Insurance, and ApicHope Pharmaceutical. In order to reach more children, it will be streamed on CETV-1 (China Education Television) on June 5th. 8K recording technology will be used to simultaneously stream the performance on the NCPA Classical Music Channel and several other online platforms.
