From July 13th to 18th, the NCPA’s production of classic national opera The Daughter of the Party will be presented ceremoniously by conductor LI Xincao, director WANG Jun, singers LI Jia and LIAO Changyong, NCPA Opera Singers, China NCPA Chorus and Orchestra, and artists from the military system and the China National Traditional Orchestra. With this production, the cast and crew will pay tribute to the immortal treasure of classical national operas and send their deepest wishes for the centenary of the founding of the CPC.
On the afternoon of July 5th, a press conference was held for the opera in the NCPA rehearsal hall. NCPA Vice President ZHAO Tiechun, conductor LI Xincao, director WANG Jun, singers LEI Jia and LIAO Changyong and other artists appeared to share the motivation for the creation and the highlights of the opera.
In 1991, the national opera The Daughter of the Party, created by artists of the PLA, was premiered, inspiring countless audiences over the next three decades. The opera was adapted from the 1958 film of the same name written by LIN Shan, enabling the heroic CPC member TIAN Yumei to appear on stage. On the occasion the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, the NCPA assembles top-notch artists to revive the classic opera. With the meticulous efforts of the artists and the support from the Arts Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Publicity Bureau of the Political Work Department of the Central Military Commission and the Arts Centre of the Chinese PLA, the opera will be presented ceremoniously on July 13th.
To make a perfect presentation, conductor LI Xincao is invited to conduct the upcoming NCPA production of The Daughter of the Party, with WANG Jun, the director of the premiere version of the opera. The cast of the revival is also star-studded. Inspired by the great spirit of our predecessors, singers including LEI Jia, LIAO Changyong, WU Jing, WANG Hexiang, XUE Haoyin, WANG Zenan, WANG Jing, JIANG Ning, KOU Jing, HUANG Xunguo and LIANG Yufeng, have poured their hearts into the production. Together with the NCPA Opera Singers, Chorus and Orchestra, as well as the outstanding artists of the China National Traditional Orchestra, they will keep this classic work alive on stage, and convey the Chinese people’s spirit, in which we remaining true to our original aspiration, shouldering our mission, and fighting valiantly.
