A co-production dance drama of NCPA and Ningbo Performance & Arts Group XIAN Xinghai to premiere

The dance drama commission XIAN Xinghai, a co-production of the NCPA and Ningbo Performance & Arts Group, will premiere from December 16th to 22nd. On the centennial of the founding of the CPC, the dance art shows its extraordinary charm in homage to the “people’s musician” XIAN Xinghai to eulogise the glorious image of Communists and send heartfelt wishes to the CPC.

In honour of the great musician, the NCPA and Ningbo Performance & Arts Group have produced XIAN Xinghai, in which a real and eminent Communist is interpreted with dance, presenting his persistent pursuit of music and great passion for the revolution on stage.

XIAN Xinghai was jointly created by A-list artists including the chief director XIAO Xiangrong, choreographer XU Rui and composer GUO Sida. The cast will be portrayed by young dancers including WEI Shenzhou, LI Yu, WANG Jinge, HE Jiang, SUN Rui (guest) and YAN Hanyi, as well as chief dancers of the Ningbo Song and Dance Theatre including XIA Tian, WANG Yu and WANG Zheng. The Ningbo Song and Dance Theatre will be responsible for everything related to dance. The creative will break the routine and interpret XIAN Xinghai’s rough but brilliant artistic life in this contemporary dance narrated in symphony on a modern stage.
