Creatives of drama Frankenstein (Chinese Version) gather at the NCPA

From August 31^st to September 4^th, 2022, the drama Frankenstein (Chinese Version) will be unveiled in tribute to the NCPA Theatre Festival 2022. On August 22^nd, director LI Ren, lead artists ZHENG Yunlong, YAN Nan, WANG Maolei, guest CHEN Qiang and actress HUANG Zhaohan jointly attended the press at the NCPA, and shared their personal feelings about such an adaptation from a sci-fi masterpiece by Mary Shelley from 200 years ago. The lead actor YUAN Hong, guest HUANG Hong, as well as choreographer, movement director and guest WANG Yabin also shared their creative experiences with the on-site medias through a live video.

The original soundtrack album of the drama Frankenstein (Chinese Version) will also be released online this week. The avant-garde soundtrack, composed by electronica musician WEI Meng (Leo), offers a chilling atmosphere for the whole drama. Audiences, who haven’t watch the drama in the theatre, can still get the first glimpse through this album.

Mary Shelley, a mysterious pregnant woman, is not only the author of the novel Frankenstein, but also a new role added to the drama Frankenstein (Chinese Version). During her elopement and residence with the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley, she created the world’s first science fiction. The misfortunes she had suffered from, including a fetal abortion and premature death, not only became haunting nightmares in her innermost world, but are woven into the imagination for a rising again in the drama Frankenstein. Moreover, the supplement of Mary Shelley’s gaze to this drama implies a new attempt by the drama Frankenstein (Chinese Version).
