Announcement of the evaluation report for re-evaluation of 2022-2023 NCPA Young Composer Programme

NCPA March/02/2023
The Seventh NCPA Young Composer Programme was launched in March 2022. For the first time, the programme has been changed to collect “concertos for Chinese folk instruments and orchestra” in place of “orchestral works”, so as to highlight the charm of Chinese musical elements.

One year has passed, and lots of work has been done for the Seventh Programme, including calls for entries, pre-evaluation and preliminary evaluation. Recently the jury, which is composed of ten experts including composers, conductors and artistic directors from home and abroad, have singled out the following ten works under strict standards for the public performance. They will be performed in public by a number of professional Chinese orchestras in the coming months.

Any shortlisted work will be disqualified immediately if it is identified as plagiarism, and the Organizing Committee of the NCPA Young Composer Programme will reserve the right to take it to a court of law.
