At the end of 2022, the NCPA became the first Chinese cultural institution to make a cultural visit to foreign countries since the COVID-19 pandemic, planning a number of virtuoso performances from all over the world in 2023. During the visit, WANG Ning, Chairman of the Beijing Forum for Performing Arts (BFPA) and President of the NCPA, extended invitations to art institutions from countries including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and the UK. A wide range of international artists and art institutions responded positively and are expected to make a grand return to the NCPA stage!
On March 12th, Jan Vogler, the internationally renowned cellist, Director of the Dresden Music Festival, and Artistic Director of the Moritzburg Festival, completed Bach’s Six Cello Suites at the Concert Hall. The three-hour concert was sold out right from the start. It was packed to capacity and the Chinese audience gave their warmest applause to this splendid cellist coming from afar. This demonstrates the NCPA’s active approach to resuming cultural and art exchanges.
