The 16th NCPA “Spring Flowers and Autumn Fruits”—Chinese Art Schools Week is on stage. This year, thousands of teachers and students from 14 art institutes across the country will give 12 performances at the NCPA covering opera, concert, dance, drama and Chinese traditional opera.
On November 21
st, the choirs from the Beijing Normal University, Tianjin Normal University and Hebei Normal University presented “The Sound of Harmony” Chorus Concert at the Concert Hall, demonstrating the beautiful vision of coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

The first half of the concert featured 12 works of different styles. The Beijing Normal University Choir performed The Moon Over The Island, On Qiantang Lake in Spring, etc. The Tianjin Normal University Choir presented Spring Outing, Toward Clouds, etc. The Hebei Normal University Choir delivered Sunflower and other works.

Homage to Spring and Chorus,
People And Country,
Viewing the Sea and other works under the leadership of Prof. WU Lingfen, a well-known music educator and chorus master of the NCPA. The concert came to an end, as well as reached its climax with the hopeful

The “Spring Flowers and Autumn Fruits” —Chinese Art Schools Week, which has gone through 16 years, will continue to march forward with aspiring young people. Seven more performances will be presented in the following days. Young students from the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts, Tianjin Conservatory of Music, Xi’an Conservatory of Music, Affiliated High School of China Conservatory of Music, Central Conservatory of Music, Xiamen University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University will pay tribute to classics, bringing touching melodies of the times and interpreting the classic characters. It is worth mentioning that the closing performance will be delivered by the winners of the 2023 International Tchaikovsky Competition, performing several timeless Chinese and western works.
