Recently, the NCPA and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony in the NCPA press hall. Attending the ceremony were WANG Ning, Party Secretary and President of the NCPA; Vice Presidents ZHU Jing and WANG Cheng; LIAO Changyong, President of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music; and XU Wei, Deputy Party Secretary.

As a national cultural platform and a cultural beacon of the capital, the NCPA remains steadfast in its guiding principles of "serving the people, advancing the arts, and engaging with the world." Adhering to its development philosophy of "leadership, heritage, innovation, openness, and inclusiveness," the NCPA is committed to establishing itself as a multifaceted hub. This includes serving as a platform for the performing arts, for themed artistic creativity, for art popularization and education, for comprehensive art exhibition, for cultural communication and cooperation, and for online cultural promotion. The NCPA is resolute in its determination to shoulder the glorious mission of making China a cultural powerhouse and fulfilling the vital task of developing Beijing into “four centres”. Strongly driven by its outstanding structure as “a performing arts centre with three locations”, the NCPA has grown into the world’s largest theatre complex to operate under the authority of one administrative entity in one city, with a solider foundation and broader platform laid and set up for more extensive cooperation.

The Shanghai Conservatory of Music holds the distinction of being China's first independently established national music institution. As a "Double First-Class" university and one of the country's oldest and most prestigious conservatories, it has long been a cornerstone of China's musical heritage. Upholding the mission of “training music professionals while importing world music and rearranging Chinese music to raise the Chinese people’s sense of beauty and harmony and enhance their artistic taste”, the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, always guided by its school motto - “Harmony, Perseverance, Solemnness and Sincerity”, is committed to producing top-notch creative artists who “have both virtue and talent, both political competence and professional knowledge, an international vision and ability for all-round development”. Important contributions have thus been made to music education and cultural construction in China.
