Outreach performances at the Shougang Park
The concert began with a festive song, Soybean, Rice and Peanut, which was followed by Flower and Youth, Dance of Youth and other works blended ethnic musical traditions with modern compositions, conveying timeless romance and vitality that transcends times and regions. The May Festival is an important brand-name music festival launched by the NCPA. Each year in May, while hosting concerts across the NCPA’s three venues, participating artists also deliver outreach performances in communities, hospitals, schools, military camps, research institutes, partner organizations and other public places.

Outreach performances at the Shougang Park
Located in Shijingshan District, Beijing City, the Shougang Park used to be an industrial base owned by the Shougang Group. It witnessed the Group’s prosperous steelmaking era and rising from the ashes, now emerging as a new urban landmark integrating technology, sports, culture, exhibition and commerce. The Shougang Park not only reflects China’s modern industrial history but also serves as a model for urban renewal and industrial transformation, establishing the influential “Shougang Model”. For the renovation of the Shougang Park, cultural inheritance is highly regarded, with the distinctive industrial heritage fully preserved. The outreach performance further enriched the Park’s artistic atmosphere.
Following this concert, the China NCPA Orchestra, NCPA Resident Singers, China Coal Mine Art Troupe, West End Philharmonic and Beijing Symphony Orchestra will give more outreach performances to the frontline workers and Beijing citizens.
