By further resource integration and experience upgrading, six exhibition areas are set up at this year’s Expo, making it more professional and international. Also, the indoor and outdoor spaces of the BPAC are fully utilised, increasing the total exhibiting area to 15,000m2.

In the area for record labels, there are about 6,000 rare audiovisual works exhibited by 64 well-known record labels from 17 countries. Walking into the lobby of the BPAC, visitors may feel as if entering a time tunnel built out of vinyl records.

In the Audiovisual Technology Exhibition Area, there are exhibits powered by MR, VR and other frontier techniques, including Dynaudio’s XEO Dolby Atmos cabin, iFLYTEK’s AIGC artistic soundwave decoding walls, and “Approaching Van Gogh” MR immersive experience space”, which visually show visitors the infinite possibilities of “art + technology”.

The Cultural & Creative Book Exhibition Area and Outdoor Leisure Area lie on the first-floor outdoor platform and both sides of the main road, forming an enjoyable artistic route. In addition to original books on art and literature from all over the world, stage postcards and musical instrument-themed fridge magnets, there is the “Harry Potter”themed Exhibition and MelodyMatrix Informal Listening Zone situated in the lobby of the Opera House.

Five specially curated exhibitions took place on the opening day. A vinyl record release conference was held for China in the Lights: A Concert of SHU Nan’s Works, attended by many music lovers. The composer, SHU Nan, shared the story and creative journey of every piece. The NCPA musical commission War & Peace, composed by SHU Nan, will also have its premiere at the BPAC. During the National Day holiday, the stage version of literary works by different writers, including LIU Zhenyun and XU Zechen, will be staged one after another at the BPAC Multi-functional Theatre. During the Expo, a campus art exhibition will also be held alongside art films.

From 11:00 to 18:30 every day from September 28th to October 6th, the main exhibition areas will be open to the public free of charge, and visitors can step in through the security gate. On October 2nd, the indoor space will be open until 19:30. From October 1st to 6th, shuttle bus services, outreach performances and interactive activities will be officially available.

Visitors can embrace nature to its fullest at this year’s Expo - there are tents, canopies, camping tables and chairs and everything else essential in the camping area, with coffee, light snacks and featured snacks up for sale there.
