China National Opera House Symphony Orchestra is a national opera house subordinate to the Ministry of Culture found in 1952. And now as a large and powerful opera house of China and even in the Asia Pacific. It consists of the Song and Dance Troupe, the Chorus and the Symphony Orchestra and the Stage Design Department.
As a famous Chinese symphony orchestra, the China National Opera House Symphony has performed tens of Chinese and foreign operas. Besides opera, the orchestra also performs symphony works of modern and contemporary Chinese and foreign composers like Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Mahler, Debussy, Stravinsky, Gershwin and Shostakovich, etc. The orchestra has worked with a number of world-renowned artists, such as the famous violinist David Oistrakh, famous tenors Pavarotti and Carreras as well as the famous soprano Caball. In addition, the orchestra has visited countries and regions like the former USSA, Japan, Finland, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and gained high praise and recognition from artists and media thereof.

Dedicated to the staging of epic operas, ballets and dance dramas, the golden Opera House is considered the centerpiece of the NCPA. Its main tone is golden color, which looks glamorous and splendid. In the auditorium are the stalls and three higher levels of balconies, which can seat an audience of 2,207, including the venue of SRO. It is equipped with a modern stage that can be moved up/down/backward/forward or rotated, a ballet stage that can slant, and a rising orchestra pit for the triple winds orchestra. All the cutting-edge staging mechanism provides artists with enormous possibilities of creative performance.
