ZHAO Jiping composed music for LIN Zexu, a co-production of the NCPA and Guangzhou Dramatic Arts Centre.

ZHAO Jiping is a composer, professor and doctoral supervisor. He is Honorary Chairman of the China Musicians Association, Chairman of the Shaanxi Federation of Literary and Art Circle, a deputy to the 11^th-14^th National People’s Congress, and an expert who has made outstanding contributions to the country. He has successively served as Deputy Director of the Shaanxi Opera Research Institute, President of the Shaanxi Song & Dance Theatre, President of the Xi’an Conservatory of Music, Chairman of the China Musicians Association, and a delegate to the 15^th National Congress of the CPC.

ZHAO Jiping has composed music for many films including Yellow Earth, Red Sorghum, Ju Dou, Raise the Red Lantern, Farewell My Concubine, The Story of Qiu-Ju, Forever Enthralled and Confucius, and TV series Water Margin, The Grand Mansion Gate, Qiao’s Grand Courtyard, Three Kingdoms (New Version), etc. He has won the China “Golden Rooster Award” for Best Music twice, the Best Music Award at the Festival of the Three Continents, the “Flying Apsaras Award” for Excellent Music, the “Flying Apsaras Award” for Outstanding Contribution, the China TV “Golden Eagle Award” for Best Music four times, the “Five-One Project” Award by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee six times, the China Gold Record Award for “Achievements in Art”, the Chinese Golden Bell Award for Music for “Best Vocal Work”, the “Award for Chinese Music Classics of the 20^th Century”, and the “Brilliance of China” Award for Chinese Culture Disseminator of the Year in 2017. In 1997, Chinese Musician ZHAO Jiping, a documentary jointly produced by the USA, the UK and France with famous American filmmaker Alan Miller as the director, had its world premiere. In 2000, ZHAO Jiping attended the Die Berliner Philharmoniker in der Waldbühne as a Chinese composer at the invitation of the Berliner Philharmoniker, becoming the first person to present Chinese music on this renowned world-class musical stage.

ZHAO Jiping stands apart in the field of Chinese music composition, known as the best interpreter of the Chinese style, temperament and cultural spirit. He is currently one of the most prominent Chinese composers on the international music stage.

ZHAO Daming is the writer of the NCPA dance drama commission Marco Polo and NCPA opera commissions LAN Huahua and The Song of Youth.

ZHAO Daming is a dramatist, literary theorist and critic, national first-class playwright at the PLA Cultural and Art Centre and former Director of the Creation Studio of the Song and Dance Troupe of General Political Department of the Chinese PLA. He was a delegate to the 18^th National Congress of the CPC and a member of the 13^th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference. He is a council member of the China Dancers Association, a member of the Evaluation Committee of Senior Technical Titles of the Whole Army and a jury member of the China National Arts Fund, enjoying special government allowances from the State Council.

Many of his stage productions have won the Wenhua Award, “Five-One Project” Award, “National Project to the Distillation of the Stage Art” Award and financial support from the China National Arts Fund. His representative works include dance dramas Dunhuang Dream and Deep Affection and Hatred for the Old Summer Palace, among others.

Over the past years, ZHAO Daming has worked for numerous major national and military theatrical performances. In recent years, he has consecutively attended Victory and Peace, an evening gala held to commemorate the 70^th anniversary of the victories of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and World Anti-Fascist War, Under the Party Flag, an evening gala held to celebrate the 90^th anniversary of the Founding of the Chinese PLA, Our Forty Years, an evening gala held to celebrate the 40^th anniversary of the reform and opening-up, and Stride Forward, the Nation, an evening gala held to celebrate the 70^th anniversary of the Founding of the P.R.C. He also wrote Review Us, Please, a song for the Military Parade held on Tiananmen Square to celebrate the 70^th anniversary of the Founding of the P.R.C.

ZHAO Lin composed music for the NCPA drama commission Wangfujing.

ZHAO Lin is a renowned composer, member of the 11^th National Committee of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, council member of the China Musicians Association, Vice President of the China Opera Research Society and former Director of the Creation Studio of the Song and Dance Troupe of General Political Department of the Chinese PLA, now working at the China National Opera & Dance Drama Theater.

His representative symphonic works include Du, a duo concerto for cello and sheng, A Happy Excursion, a concerto for cello and pipa, and symphonic tone poem A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains. He has served as Music Director of many important national and military cultural performances, including those at the Opening Ceremony of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games (Music Director), the Opening Ceremony of the 19^th Asian Games (Chief Music Designer) and CCTV Spring Festival Gala (Deputy Chief Director & Music Director). He has garnered many awards, including the China Golden Rooster Award for Best Music, Wenhua Award for “Chinese Music Composition”, “Five-One Project” Award by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, and CMA Award for “Best Soundtrack Album”.

TIAN Lu is a professor and postgraduate tutor at the Beijing Dance Academy. She specialises in teaching and choreographing Chinese ethnic and folk dance.

TIAN Lu has published textbooks including Notes on Dance Creation, A Course for Haiyang Yangko of Shandong Province, Chinese Art Education Series: Dance - Chinese Folk Dance Teaching Materials and Methods (Anhui Flower-Drum Lantern Dance, Jiaozhou Yangko, Haiyang Yangko), A Course for Chinese Folk Dance, Dances of the Qiang Ethnic Group, An Introduction to Chinese Ethnic and Folk Dance (Creative Theory), and Chinese Folk Dance Terminology (Haiyang Yangko).

Her representative dance dramas include Dust, Landmine Warfare and Splendid as a Song.

Her representative dancing works include The Old Wild Goose, Galloping Horses, Removing the Mountain, Magpie Holds a Plum Branch in Its Beak, Why Are the Flowers So Red, Red Coral, Long Tune, Dyeing by Grinding, Peacock Flying Near, Jade Fox, Highland Barley, Farewell, Our Flower-Drum Lantern Dance, When do the Hops Bloom, Fish in Ripples, Spring Prayer, Longing, and Dongtian.

Her representative dance videos include Flood Control Beast and Red.

REN Dongsheng served as the lighting and video projection designer for the NCPA national dance drama commission The Railway to Tibet, and visual director for The Spring in Yangjialing, a dance drama commission jointly produced by the NCPA and Beijing Dance Academy.

REN Dongsheng is a professor and first-class set designer at the Beijing Dance Academy and Director of the Department of Stage Design, Executive Deputy Director of the Lighting Design Society of the China Institute of Stage Design, a doctoral supervisor at the Central Academy of Drama, a guest professor and artist-in-residence at the Shanghai Theatre Academy, a guest professor and postgraduate tutor at the National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts, and a distinguished professor at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music.

REN Dongsheng has won the “Wenhua Award”, “Five-One Project” Award and other national awards several times. He has garnered the Russian “Benois de la Danse” for Best Set Designer.

His representative works include conceptual theatre 2047 Apologue, dance dramas The Railway to Tibet, The Eternal Wave, The Journey of a Legendary Landscape Painting and Wing Chun, dramas The Pillowman, Tide, The Age of Awakening and On the Road, large-scale situational epics The Great Journey and Justice is the Winner, among others.

LIU Ying is a teacher at the Department of Stage Design, Beijing Dance Academy, holding a Bachelor’s Degree andMaster’s Degree in stage design and theory from the Central Academy of Drama. From 2014 to 2016, she studied oil drawing at the St. Petersburg State Repin Academy of Fine Arts as a state-funded visiting scholar. She has worked as an art director and costume designer for a number of large-scale TV dramas. She has won prizes including the “Stage Design” Award at the Hyogo Theatre Festival, the “Outstanding Costume Designer” Award at the Seventh China Theatre Festival, and the Best Stage Design Award at the First Theatre Festival for College Students. Her representative works include The Goddess of the Luo River, Great Love: An Evening Party for Commemorating the 100^th Anniversary of the Birth of Master DAI Ailian, Stepping Out of Xiaogang Village, The River All Red, and others.

BAI Wenguo is Deputy Head of the Department of Stage Design, Beijing Dance Academy, a professor, postgraduate tutor, first-class set designer and first-class certified lighting designer, holding an academic degree from the Department of Stage Design, Central Academy of Drama. He is a council member of the China Stage Art Educational Alliance and Vice Chair of the Division for Lighting for Stage, Film and TV Studio of the China Illuminating Engineering Society. He has won prizes including the Excellent Production Award at the China Theatre Festival, the “Five-One Project” Award, the China Dance Lotus Award for Dance Drama, and the Excellence Award at the China Opera Festival.

CHEN Xiaojun is a teacher at the Beijing Dance Academy and a member of the China Institute of Stage Design.

CHEN Xiaojun has worked for many grand events, including the Closing Ceremony of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games (Head of the Drawing Team, Department of Costume Design), Come on, Youth at the Opening Ceremony of the 11^th World Athletics U20 Championships, Enduring Memories of Hangzhou, an evening gala held at the G20 Summit, A Millennium Promise, a theatrical performance given at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation.

Her representative works include large-scale poetic dance drama Song of the Great Wind, large-scale dance poem True Feeling, dance dramas Immortal Gela, Paradise, Calligraphy of the Great River and Red Boat Sets Sail, large-scale 3D dance drama Avalokitesvara, and others.

Her representative musicals include Butterflies, Magic Mirror, Nasreddin Effendi, etc.

QI Na has served as the makeup and hair style designer for the NCPA drama commission The LEI Family, the Royal Architects, children’s operas A Story About Growing up and Snow White, and others.

QI Na is a hair style designer and first-class set designer at the Creation Studio of the Beijing Children’s Art Theatre, Beijing Performance & Arts Group, holding an academic degree from the Department of Stage Design, Central Academy of Drama. She is a member of the China Theatre Association, China Institute of Stage Design and China Musical Association, and an expert member of the Stage Design Committee of the Beijing Theatre Association.

Her representative works have won the Wenhua Award by the Ministry of Culture, the “Five-One Project” Award by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, the “National Project to the Distillation of the Stage Art” Award for Top Ten Productions, and the Special Award at the Daegu International Musical Festival. A stage drama featuring her hair style design was put on at the Festival d’Avignon. She was nominated as the Best Costume Designer of the Year at the Beijing Tianqiao Musical Annual Ceremony 2024.

QI Na has worked for nearly 100 works of multiple genres, including dance dramas The River All Red, Heming Lake and Memories of the Grassland, music-based song and dance dramas Journey to the Land of Mystery‌ and Taihang Wetnurse, musicals Butterflies, On the Road and Mother Love Me Once Again, and Shiki Theatre Company The Prince And The Pauper and Roméo et Juliette.

HU Tianji has served as the video projection designer for the NCPA operas The Dawns Here Are Quiet, Jinsha River, The Long March, La Sonnambula and The Song of Youth, children’s operas Snow White and A Story About Growing up, drama DENG Shichang and musical In War & Peace.

HU Tianji is a staff member of the National Theatre of China, holding a Bachelor’s Degree from the Department of Fresco Painting, China Central Academy of Fine Arts. He graduated from the School of Animation of L’Institut Supérieur des Arts Appliqués (LISSA) in 2006. After returning to China, he founded the Lunar January Image Studio for later-stage multimedia interaction design.

His recent representative works include dance dramas Five Stars Shine Upon the East, Goddess of the Luo River, Deep Memory, Awakening Lion, The Rite of Spring and The Peony Pavilion, operas Red River Alley, Canal of Destiny, Regret for the Past, Border Town, LIN Huiyin and March of the Volunteers, dramas Peer Gynt, I Am Not Madame Bovary, Listening to Monk Hongyi, In the Name of People, The Amnesty, NIU Tianci, Spring Dawns Along the Su Causeway, The Literature and Art in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, etc., musicals QU Qiubai and The Summoning of Dunhuang, among others. He was the chief video designer of the evening gala held to commemorate the 80^th anniversary of the victories of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and World Anti-Fascist War.

ZHANG Yiming holds a Bachelor’s Degree in animation from the College of Art and Design, Beijing University of Technology, and a Master’s Degree in illustration & visual media from the London College of Communication. Over the years, he has specialised in the development and application of 3D technology so that technology should serve creativity. While making technical progress steadily, he innovates in narrative writing, and has thus produced excellent works of art. He is devoted to developing UnrealEngine3D technology, 3D modelling & rendering technology, DMX lighting rehearsal technology, Houdini particle system and Vicon motion capture system. He participated in the production of a 3D video for the Beijing Dance Academy dance drama The Story of Nanniwan.

JIN Jifeng is a staff member of the NCPA and a second-class set designer, holding a Master’s Degree from the Central Academy of Drama. Since he entered the profession, JIN Junfeng has produced about 200 works by joining hands with numerous artists from home and abroad. Many of the works have won ministerial and provincial awards. He has designed props for operas, dramas, dance dramas, traditional Chinese operas, children’s dramas, live-action dramas, films, TV series, and large-scale theatrical performances.

SONG Xiaoxi is a staff member of the NCPA, holding a degree in recording art from the Beijing Film Academy. Now she works as a sound designer at the NCPA Department of Stage Technology, primarily responsible for the work at the Opera House. She has made sound designs for many NCPA opera commissions, including the national opera commission The Wild Rhododendron (sound effects designer), Western operas La Traviata, Aida, Das Rheingold and Die Walküre (audio coordinator), The Count of Monte Cristo (assistant sound designer), and opera commissions The Daughter of the Party, The Long March, XIAN Xinghai and February (assistant sound effects designer). She has worked for a lot of grand events such as the Opening Ceremony of the 13^th China Art Festival.

OUYANG Jirui is a teacher, lecturer and third-class choreographer at the School of Creative Studies, Beijing Dance Academy. She has attended a number of major competitions including the National Taoli Cup Dance Teaching Achievement Exhibition and China Dance Lotus Award. Her short dance drama Taste received financial support from the “China National Arts Fund Young Choreographer Support Programme”. Her national dance drama Dust received financial support from the China National Arts Fund and was shortlisted for the “11^th China Dance Lotus Award”. Her national dance drama Splendid as a Song received financial support from the China National Arts Fund and won the 17^th Yunnan Provincial Award for Best New Production. Her representative works include A Bit Sweet, A Great River and Little Boy Returns on Waves.

PU Yu is a first-class actor and dancer at the Beijing Dance Academy Youth Dance Ensemble. He won the at the 11^th China Dance “Lotus Award” for Best Chinese Classical Dance, the Silver Award at the Fifth Ethnic Minority Art Festival of China, the 11^th “Lotus Award” for “Dance Drama”, and the Silver Award for Classical Dance at the Ninth Taoli Cup. He was shortlisted for the Wenhua Award at the 11^th Chinese Dance Festival, and garnered the “Annual Choreography Award” by RAY LI LADY. He was nominated for the 13^th China Dance “Lotus Award” for Classical Dance. He also received the “Excellent Production Award” at the 14^th National Dance Festival, the Silver Award for Choreography in the 18^th Beijing Dance Competition, and the highest prize - “Excellent Production Award” at the Second Yangtse River Delta Professional Dance Festival. His representative works include Ink Dance, Yun, Sing A Mountain Song for the Party, Green Hills in the Distance, Memories of the South, and Yellow Butterfly.
