Opera The Dawns Here Are Quiet is a Chinese opera commission produced by the NCPA in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the world’s victory of the Anti-Fascist War. The opera has been adapted from a novel of the same title written by the writer Boris Vasilyev, telling a story about several female soldiers resisting the German invaders in World War II, eulogizing their faithful and optimistic character as well as spirit of sacrifice. Since its premiere in 2015, the opera has been put on stage for three rounds in 17 performances, touching the hearts of so many Chinese audience members.

In September 2018, the NCPA made an exchange tour to Russia with its opera commission The Dawns Here Are Quiet, to which local audiences had enthusiastically responded, with all tickets sold out in just a short time. The passionate feedback from Russian audiences proved the charm of the “Chinese opera commission”once again.

In 2018, the NCPA invited director TENG Junjie and his team from Radio and Television Shanghai to produce the opera into a film with the most advanced 4K and Dolby Atmos technology, aiming to bring the audience immersive viewing experiences. This is the first time for NCPA to cooperate with Radio and Television Shanghai. The opera film The Dawns Here Are Quiet started a national tour on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russiais of landmark significance.
