On November 1st, 2019, headed by conductor Jakub Hrůša, Bamberger Symphoniker will present the timeless music classics by Beethoven, Bruch and Dvorak at the NCPA Concert Hall.
Bamberger Symphoniker
In 1946, former members of Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie met with a group of musicians who were destitute and homeless due to the chaos caused by war. They founded Bamberger Symphoniker. At present, with a brilliant course for more than 70 years, Bamberger Symphoniker has developed into one of the most sought-after orchestras in Germany.
Conductor Jakub Hrůša
In 2016, Czech conductor Jakub Hrůša began to serve as the new Principal Conductor of Bamberger Symphoniker. Hrůša pointed out, “I have already admired the veteran conductors before I have the opportunity to serve as the conductor of this heavyweight European symphony orchestra. In any sense, Bamberger Symphoniker is the embodiment of orchestral culture. In cooperation with Bamberger Symphoniker, each phrase can be converted into a miracle, and every concert can be said to be a metamorphosis”. Under the baton of Hrůša, Bamberger Symphoniker has caused a sensation among worldwide audiences within two music seasons. Work contract, signed by and between Hrůša and the orchestra, has been also extended to the year 2026. The upcoming visit to the NCPA will also mark the premiere of this young talent in Beijing.
Violinist Vilde Frang
The concert will begin with Ouverture de Coriolan by Beethoven, followed by Violin Concerto No. 1 in G Minor by Bruch under cooperation between Bamberger Symphoniker and violinist Vilde Frang. Violin Concerto No. 1 in G Minor is a featured work by the violinist Vilde Frang during Music Seasons 2019-2020. She enjoys high reputation in global classical music circles by virtue of superb skills and exquisite music. In September 2019, Vilde Frang and Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra just toured with this work at top-class European music festivals as Lucerne Festival. As commented by music critics, “Vilde Frang radiates full of poetry in those works by Bruch, and brims with fantastic temperament. She boasts the excellent music control, and her unique charms of individual performance is quite fascinating”.
In the second half of the concert, Bamberger Symphoniker will present Symphony No. 7 in D Minor by Dvorák.
