NCPA will present the 99^th Anniversary Concert of Founding of the CPC

NCPA will present a concert to celebrate the 99^th anniversary of the founding of the CPC. Conductor LI Xincao and JIAO Miao will lead the China NCPA Orchestra, China NCPA Chorus, NCPA Resident Opera Singers and NCPA Drama Ensemble to stage inspiring works.

The NCPA will look back upon the extraordinary history of the CPC with the concert at 7:30 p.m. on July 1^st, with hostess LI Yangwei and NCPA Drama Ensemble member SUN Lishi as the hosts. The NCPA Chorus concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. on July 4^th. Both concerts will be streamed on the NCPA Classical Music Channel and many other online platforms. 100 representatives of CPC members, including front-line medical workers fighting COVID-19 in Beijing, police officers and staff responsible for epidemic prevention and control in grassroots communities, will be invited to attend the concert on July 1^st. There will also be an interview 15 minutes before the concert. Host LI Yangwei will invite representatives to share their anti-epidemic stories.

On July 1^st, the 99^th Anniversary Concert of Founding of the CPC will be unveiled with symphonic overture Ode to the Red Flag, followed by performances in a variety types, including symphony, solo, duet, and chorus. A representative anti-epidemic work by the NCPA, What Angles Say, will be staged again to salute the heroes in harm’s way. The second half will feature the Yellow River Cantata in its entirety.

On July 4^th, the NCPA Chorus concert will present many popular modern classic songs with an addition of excerpts from the NCPA commission & Chinese epic opera The Long March.
