Army Day Celebration Chorus Concert was staged

On August 1st, NCPA Army Day Celebration Chorus Concert was staged at the NCPA Concert Hall to celebrate the 93rd Anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA). The concert was live streamed on NCPA Classical Music Channel, Kuaishou, CCTV.com and many other online platforms. Under the baton of conductor ZHENG Jian, the NCPA Chorus brought popular military songs, paying homage to China’s PLA and armed police who are guarding the nation and its people and fighting on the front line against the COVID-19 epidemic and floods.


Prior to the concert, LUO Xu, a host of CCTV’s National Defense and Military Channel led the online audience on a tour of the NCPA West Exhibition Hall, then he met with lyricist WANG Xiaoling, conductor ZHENG Jian and soprano WANG Qingshuang at the NCPA Press Conference Room, sharing touching stories related to military life and songs.


The concert was hosted by LUO Xu and accompanied by pianists SUI Borui and LIU Xiaoxing. The classic military songs expressed the soldiers’ affection for their military life. During the performance, the online audience left messages to express their feelings for China and Chinese soldiers, and some were moved by the music. It’s worth mentioning that NCPA specially invited 10 Double Support model individuals and exemplary veterans to attend the concert through “Public Welfare Seat”.


On the same day, Taihu Weekly Concert was launched at Taihu Open-air Theatre. Under the baton of LI Biao, frontline workers in the anti-epidemic battle, veterans, cadres transferred to civilian work, and residents around Taihu celebrated the Army Day together on the concert.
