On October 29^th, the NCPA signed a strategic cooperation agreement with CCTV. com under the China Media Group (CMG). SHEN Haixiong, Vice Director of Publicity Department of CPC Central Committee and Director and Editor-in-Chief of CMG, and WANG Ning, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Beijing Committee and President of the NCPA, attended the signing ceremony and delivered speeches. The newly upgraded and redesigned website and APP of the NCPA Classical Music Channel were launched.

SHEN Haixiong expressed that it is of great significance that CCTV.com and the NCPA have started a new decade of strategic cooperation. In this new chapter, two sides will take advantage of respective strengths to demonstrate the role as the vanguards in developing a strong socialist culture in China. They will work together to strengthen the exploration of “technology + art”, jointly cultivate youth groups, promote the dissemination of Chinese culture, and collaborate to build a national performing arts platform. Empowered by internet technology and new media innovation, both sides will continue to contribute to China’s development in the new era with music and artworks, tell the Chinese story and spread the Chinese voice in the new era.

WANG Ning said in his speech that in the past ten years, the NCPA and CCTV.com have worked hand-in-hand to innovate and create fruitful results. The two sides have jointly initiated the new model of online dissemination of performing arts, established a new space for the combination of technology and art, and built a new platform for the promotion and popularization of high arts. In the next decade, both sides are expected to continue to ground efforts in the new development stage, adhering to the new development philosophy, integrating into the new pattern of development, promoting the fusion of art and technology, creating a national platform for digital presentation of performing arts, youth aesthetic education and overseas dissemination of Chinese culture, and contributing to the construction of China into a country with a strong socialist culture in the new era.

Subsequently, the heads of NCPA and CCTV.com signed a strategic cooperation agreement on behalf of both sides. According to the agreement, the two sides will cooperate in areas such as development of broadcasting technologies covering “5G + 4K”, “8K + AI”, VR and AR, joint production of cultural and creative products, enhancement of youth aesthetic education, and the promotion of Chinese culture’s going global.

The newly redesigned NCPA Classical Music Channel was officially launched on the same day. As a pioneer in the performing arts industry, the website is a digital platform jointly developed by the NCPA and CCTV.com in 2011 to present the top performing arts resources from China and abroad. Since its release, the Classical Music Channel has maintained a focused and refined approach to showcasing live performances and rehearsals at the NCPA through multiple terminals, including computers, mobile phones and projection screens. Until now, the platform has delivered over 1,200 live performances in high definition, over 4,200 behind-the-scenes videos and highlights, more than 800 programmes for music popularization, about 2,700 Chinese and foreign music recordings, more than 320 rare music documentaries and over 200 livestreams of high-quality performances, providing valuable stage art assets to audiences around the world. The upgraded website has added features including site-wide favourites, quick login, live commenting, screen casting and on-demand streaming of ultra-high-definition videos, which will improve the user experience in all aspects.

PENG Jianming, member of the CMG editorial board, LI Zhixiang, ZHAO Tiechun, ZHU Jing and GONG Jicheng, vice presidents of the NCPA, and responsible persons from relevant departments of the CMG were present at the signing ceremony.
