2024 is the 17th anniversary of the inauguration of the NCPA and the first year when the NCPA started operating as “a performing arts centre with three locations”. Adhering to its tenet of being “for the people, for art and for the world”, the NCPA focuses on the construction of “six platforms” and has achieved fruitful results in its development as “a performing arts centre with three locations”.
Themed “Art for the People, Three Locations in Same Splendour”, wonderful performances and activities will be carried out on the 17th anniversary of the inauguration of the NCPA in active response to the grace of the audience and all sectors of the community in the three locations - the NCPA, the Beijing Performing Arts Centre and the NCPA Taihu Stage Art Centre. Meanwhile, the 17th NCPA Open Day Festival will be held on December 22nd, 2024, celebrating the 17th anniversary of its inauguration and the 1st anniversary of its operation as “a performing arts centre with three locations”.
Highlights of Selected Performances and Activities for the 17th Anniversary of the Inauguration of the NCPA
From December 6th to 31st, about 50 wonderful performances will be given at the three locations of the NCPA. The NCPA musical commission War & Peace will have its world premiere. The NCPA production of opera commission Visitors on the Snow Mountain, dance drama XIAN Xinghai and drama A Doll’s House will be revived. Furthermore, special programmes, including the NCPA 17th Anniversary Concert, China NCPA Chorus 15th Anniversary Concert and NCPA World Classic Opera Gala, will also be held to demonstrate the NCPA’s vibrancy in art creation and production. You can also experience Tayu Lo’s Spring Dragon Symphony Night Concert 2024, “China Dancers Association Top Dancers & Gala”, LIU Zhenyun’s Theatre Trilogy I One Day Three Autumns, and Philharmonix Concert.

III. Art Exhibitions, Art Education Performances and Activities
In addition to a variety of online and live performances, as well as colourful activities on the Open Day Festival, a multi-theme art exhibition will be held at the “Three Locations” of the NCPA alongside different performances and activities themed art education. Art popularisation and education activities, including “Spring Flowers and Autumn Fruits”, “Weekend Concerts”, “Into the World in Records”, “Classic Art Lectures”, will continue to bring excitement. About ten exhibitions will be presented at the NCPA Arts Gallery, including The Grand Picture of Our Time - Selected Collections from the CAFA Art Museum, Memories of the Ancient City - Beijing Exhibition of Hutong-Themed Artworks, New Look of Arts - NCPA Digital Art Exhibition, etc.
