Stephen Lawless Director
Stephen Lawless was Director of Production for the Glyndebourne Touring Opera from 1986 to 1991, where his work culminated in an immensely successful production of
Death in Venice, which was subsequently recorded by the BBC for television and video release. He made his début with the Kirov Opera in Leningrad producing
Boris Godunov which was broadcast live on British television, the first ever live telecast of an opera from the Soviet Union to the UK. Chen Wei Revival Director
Chinese director Chen Wei specializes in the adoption of Chinese elements and prefers the national themes. She refines comedy factor and exotic style in the revival version.
Chen Wei is a director for operas and musical dramas, performance educator and Director of Performance Teaching and Research Office of Chinese Conservatory of Music. As the most vibrant director for operas and musical dramas, she has made remarkable explorations to expand creation contents and expression forms of operas and musical dramas in recent years. Her works often win world-class awards, such as Wenhua Award and Wenhua New Play Award from Ministry of Culture, National Stage Masterpiece Project Award and “Five One Project Award” of the Information Department of the Central Committee of the CPC. She directs dozens of Chinese and foreign operas, such as the operas Wilderness, Xu Fu, General Sheleng, Sima Qian, Legend of Wood Carvings and Eight Women Die a Martyr.
In 2001, she directed the opera Saying Goodbye to Cambridge Again, which marked the pioneering success of the first-ever small-theater opera in China, and caused a sensation. In August 2002, this opera participated in the National Opera Collective Performance launched by Ministry of Culture in the event “Summer of Harbin”, and won special prize and a number of individual awards.
In 2004, she directed the musical drama The Fifth Girl which won Wenhua Award and the seven individual awards in the Seventh China Arts Festival. Therefore, she also won Wenhua Director Award. In that same year, she directed musical drama Visitor to the Ice Mountain, which achieved national tours, became shortlisted in National Stage Masterpiece Project Award, and also won 'Five Ones' Project Award from the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the CPC. In 2006, she directed Chu musical drama Tea Fragrance in March which won the first prize in National Traditional Opera Collective Performance and participated in the Eighth China Arts Festival. Therefore, she also won Wenhua Director Award. In 2009, she served as Artistic Director of Mass Parade and Chief Director of Art Director Team for the 60th Anniversary of the PRC, who was cordially received and commended by President Hu Jintao and other leaders of the CPC and the State. Therefore, she won Innovative Achievement Award. On Children's Day, 2009, she served as the director of a large-scale children's musical drama Beijing Legend which was staged at the Water Cube, which set a record with box office revenue of nearly RMB 8 million and audiences totaled 50,000. In 2010, she created and rehearsed a large-scale musical drama Qingcheng in Chengdu, which was appraised as 'The Most Popular Original Musical Drama of China in 2010'. And she was invited to participate in 2011 Edinburgh Theatre Festival. In 2011, she directed national opera Xiao Erhei’s Marriage (co-produced by China Conservatory of Music and NCPA), which participated in NCPA Opera Festival and was widely praised by all walks of life. In 2011, she directed an original Chinese opera Red River Valley, who not only won Director Award of 2011’ Excellent Repertoire Collective Performances of Nationwide Art Troupes, but also won Outstanding Director Award in the First Chinese Opera Festival. From the late 2011 to 2012, she directed singing and dancing drama Great Shun (produced by Jinan Opera and Dance Theatre in Shandong Province) and large-scale musical drama Liu Hai Cuts Firewood (produced by Hunan Flower Drum Theatre), which evoked local enormous repercussions and won extensive acclaims.

She Was born and went to school in Finland, since mid Eighties based in Hamburg, Germany. Studies of Business and Political Science at Hamburg University.
She has worked on Opera Productions at the Royal Opera Covent Garden, the New York City Opera, the West Palm Beach Opera, Teatro Carlo Felice Genoa, Opera Zuid in the Netherlands, De Koninklijke Schouwburg The Hague, Bilbao Opera, at the Bregenz Opera Festival, at the Komische Oper Berlin, at Hamburgische Staatsoper and at the Leipzig Opera.
She created the Lighting Design of The Producers in Vienna and Berlin. Die Habsburgischen in Vienna and heidi-Das Musical in Swizerland. Her work as Associate Lighting Designer for Musicals includes, amongst others, Productions like Mamma Mia (11 European Productions), Disney's Beauty and The Beast (Oberhausen, Berlin, Moscow andBarcelona) and Mary Poppins(Scheveningen).

Yao Hong as Rosalinde Soprano
Yao Hong, China's famous soprano, is a first-grade national actress. Among her numerous awards, she has won the First Prize at the 'Concord' International Opera Competition in Marseilles, the First Prize at the First National Vocal contest organized by the Ministry of Culture, the Sixth Wenhua Award by the Ministry of Culture, and the 'Plum Blossom Award' by Chinese Dramatists Association. Yi Siheng as Rosalinde Soprano
Yi Siheng is a lyric soprano. She graduated from Shanghai Conservatory of Music in 2001, who was under the tutelage of Professor Zhou Xiaoyan. In 2007, she graduated from Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart (Germany) under the tutelage of the renowned dramatic mezzo-soprano Prof. Dunja Vejzovic. Song Yuanming as Adele Soprano
Song Yuanming, a soprano, obtained the two master degrees of 'Opera and Light Opera' and 'Art Songs and Cantata' in Vienna National University of Music and Performing Arts under the tutelage of Professor Franz Lucasalfsky, obtained the education diploma of 'Outstanding Artist' higher than the songs and sound MA, and graduated from flute major of the Vienna Prayner Academy of Music. Li Jingjing as Adele Soprano
Li Jingjing is a skilled soprano and a soloist of the China National Opera House. She was graduated from Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts with a dual Master's Degree of Opera and Operette and of Art Song and Cantata, winning Super-A in academic performance for two times, which is the first time for Chinese student. Li Jingjing was taken by several international vocal music master classes and won herself a favorable review. Liang Ning as Prince Orlofsky Mezzo-soprano
One of the brightest mezzo-sopranos on the current opera scene, Liang Ning has already been heard in many of the world's leading opera houses. She is well known for her role as Suzuki in the recent film,
Madama Butterfly. Ms. Liang started her European career at the Hamburg State Opera and Vienna State Opera where she has sung Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro, Dorabella in Così fan tutte, Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Romeo in I Capuletti ed I Montecchi, Jenny in Mahagonny, and Composer in Ariadne auf Naxos. She has sung Idamante in Idomeneo at Teatro La Scala where she has also performed Suzuki in
Madama Butterfly. Ms. Liang debuted at the Metropolitan Opera as Octavian in
Der Rosenkavalier, which was broadcast worldwide. Ms. Liang has also performed with Berlin State Opera, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Semper Opera Dresden, the Bavarian State Opera, as well as opera houses in Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Amsterdam, Marseilles, Bologna, Helsinki, Tel Aviv, Washington, Philadelphia, and Toronto.
Ms. Liang is also an active concert and recital singer, and has worked with Giuseppe Sinopoli, Gary Bertini, Riccardo Muti, Sir Colin Davis, Christian Thielemann, Eliahu Inbal, Peter Schreier, Gerd Albrecht, and James Colon. She has also sung in many important European festivals such as Wiener Festwochen, Bregenz Music Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Savonlinna Music Festival, and festivals in Dresden, Ludwigsburg, Bad Kissingen, Athens, and Rheingau.
Ms. Liang is a winner of the Metropolitan National Council Competition, the Mirjam Helin Competition, the Musician's Emergency Competition, the Rosa Ponselle International Vocal Competition, the Loren L. Zachery Competition, and the Luciano Pavarotti Competition.
Ms. Liang received a Masters of Music from the Juilliard School in New York, and was a member of the American Opera Center. Wang Hongyao as Prince Orlofsky Mezzo-soprano
Wang Hongyao studied with Professor Guo Shuzhen. In 2002, she won the Outstanding Singer Award (Liaoning Division) in the National TV Contest of Young Singers. In 2004, she won the first place in the Shanghai division of the National TV Contest of Young Singers. In 2005, she took part in the Neue Stimmen International Singing Competition, and made it to the top 4 finalists, and went to Germany to take part in the competition in October of the same year. In 2005, she won the First Prize and the New Talent Award in the 5th Chinese International Vocal Competition in Taipei. In 2008, she won the 3rd Prize in the 4th China (Ningbo) International Singing Competition. She has performed in many operas, including

Magic Flute. She has worked with Hong Kong Oratorio Society and sung Verdi's

Li Jianlin is Vocal Music Professor of Digital Art School of Shanghai University, Masters' Supervisor and National-level Grade-A Actor. Yang Xiaoyong as Dr. Falke Baritone

Liu Songhu as Dr. Falke Baritone
Liu Songhu is an internationally-renowned baritone based in Europe, and holds Doctorate Degree. He is resident soloist of NCPA. He used to serve as Associate Professor of Opera Institute of Peking University.
He is the first Chinese gold award winner of German International Art Song Vocal Competition. He served as Resident Soloist of Nuremberg State Opera House and Visiting Lecturer of Hochschule für Musik in Nuremberg, Germany for decades. Su Dawei as Dr. Blind Tenor
Graduated from the Central Conservatory of Music with a Master's Degree in Vocal Music, Su Dawei is a music teacher of Music School, Capital Normal University. He has won awards on the 5th World Chinese Vocal Music Competition and the 6th Italy Alcamo International Vocal Music Competition (China Area). In 2010, Mr. Su took lessons from the art director of 'The Three Great Tenors', Italian art direction master of national treasure and well-known pianist Rolando Nicolosi who praised Mr. Su as a lyric tenor with great musicality and the most beautiful timbre. Su Dawei has been a performer in

Zhang Gong is a baritone and the chief of baritone part of China National Symphony Orchestra. In 2003, he entered the Opera Department of China Conservatory of Music, majoring in Opera Performance.
