ZHAO Miao Director & Movement Director
ZHAO Miao is a director, teacher and curator. He is the founder of the Theatre SanTuoQi.
ZHAO Miao founded the Theatre SanTuoQi in 1996 and has been a director since then. In addition to his unique dramatic style, which is characterised by “plaintive humour” and “wonderful imagination”, ZHAO Miao is devoted to presenting “the poetic charm of the body”. He is an important Chinese pioneer in physical theatre, creation, research and education.

Akuan is a teacher of costume design at the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, a member of the China Fashion Association, a member of the China Institute of Stage Design, and an artist who has cooperated with the Theatre SanTuoQi since 2020.

TIAN Zhenzi Composer
TIAN Zhenzi is an indie composer and arranger, a professor at the Department of Music of National Academy of Chinese Theatre Arts, Head of the Music Engineering Staff Room, and an artist who has cooperated with the Theatre SanTuoQi since 2016.
TIAN Zhenzi has ever been the music composer and music director for many films and TV dramas. She has published a solo album, Dreams on Paper, and composed chamber music works including Fun in Drama, Inspiration from Clouds, and Echoes.
TIAN Zhenzi has composed music and made music designs for stage dramas including Fantasy Dream of Mountains and Seas, Mutter Courage und ihre Kinder, The Virtual Clown, 15 Days in Two Capitals (Version 2022), Memories of Matsuko, Kairoutei Satsujinjiken, Luocha State, Warrior Lanling, Iron Army Eastward to Victory, etc., as well as multimedia stage plays including Painted Skin. She has composed and arranged music for the digital Peking opera Long March Suite, large-scale multimedia dance The Canal, the Hometown, and large-scale light show Dream Building in the Bird’s Nest.

LI Shengnan is a martial art director and actor, holding a degree from Wuhan University. As an artist, he has cooperated with the Theatre SanTuoQi since 2016.
LI Shengnan won the First Place in the National Dragon and Lion Dance Competition, the First Place for Spearplay and the Second Place for Swordsmanship in the Hong Kong International Competition, the First Place for Swordsmanship, the Second Place for Boxing and the Second Place for Spearplay in the Hunan Martial Arts Competition, the First Place for Swordsmanship in the Fujian Martial Arts Competition, and the First Place for Swordsmanship and Boxing in the National Arts Competition for Colleges and Universities.
